Welcome Dr. Laura Carmel DVM
Backstretch Veterinary would like to welcome Dr. Laura Carmel DVM (formerly of Tufts Ambulatory Service) to our emergency on call rotation. Dr. Carmel will be covering emergencies one weekend of a month and one night every week. We look forward to working with her!
Coggins test have entered the digital age!
This year we will be converting from the old style coggins forms to the new digital Global Vet Link coggins. This will require that we take digital pictures of each horse and load all their info into the GVL site the first year they are done. Afterwards each year will be much easier to submit coggins - we just pull blood and off it goes! No more drawing pictures (love it for those paints and appaloosas!). Owners also have 24/7 access to their completed coggins forms - just give us your email address to enter into your account info. Then go to the Global Vet Link site at GlobalVetLink.com and click on "for Animal Owners". You will be given instructions to set up your own personal account and then have you'll have access to your coggins results. It's that easy!
New payment options
Unfortunately economic time s are tough for all of us and vet bills can sometimes add up quickly. In order for us to keep up with our bills we're requesting that all clients have a credit card on file. We will continue to bill as usual and you will have 30 days to pay. If the account is not paid in full at that time the credit card will be charged. In addition to Mastercard and Visa, we are now accepting the Citi Health Credit Card. There are no payments or interest for various terms, and the card can be used at participating Veterinary clinics and many other health care providers. The show must go on!!!
Our first annual client educational seminar on January 18th was a big success, regardless of the huge snow storm and cold we had that day! We wanted to thank everyone who braved the elements for coming. And we'd especially like to thank Ridgetop Farm for the use of their indoor arena (we promise the heat will be working next year!) and Jessica Kennedy from Fort Dodge for their sponsorship of the event.
