Backstretch Veterinary was founded in 1988 by Dr. Erica Fuller and Dr. Sue Montgomery.  In 1998, Dr. Suzanne Loheac joined the practice when Dr. Montgomery decided to pursue a career in public health. In 2003, Dr. Fuller also decided to move on to a new career in law, so Dr. Loheac took the reins. Over the years the practice has gone through many changes. What once was a predominantly racetrack practice has now become more focused on other performance horses such as hunter/jumper, dressage and eventing.

Our goal is to provide the best possible veterinary care to our clients’ horses. We understand that horses are not only a large financial investment, but they are also a member of your family. We pride ourselves in practicing good quality medicine and providing the best in customer service through our understanding of our clients’ individual needs. All the veterinarians and staff at Backstretch are horsemen and therefore we understand how important your equine companions are to you.
